Who can become a member of the Spiritual Directors Association of Kenya?

A member should be a trained Spiritual Guide with a minimum qualification of a
certificate from a recognized institution, with at least 30 hours of course work, or
its equivalent as determined by the Membership Committee
- A member should subscribe to the Christian core-beliefs.
- Members shall be governed by the Code of Ethics for Spiritual Directors (see
Appendix).
- A member is required to register with Kshs.1000/-, and additionally contribute an
annual subscription stipulated by the Committee before 31st January of every year,
being subscription for that year.
- A registered member will cease to be a member of the Association and his/her name
struck off the register of members, in the event that:
- They fall into arrears of their annual subscription for more than three
years after the due date
- They have broken the Code of Ethics as verified by the Committee
- They have been absent from meetings for a duration of three years
- They have relinquished their membership on their own
- The Committee shall have the power to suspend a member from membership until the
next Annual General Meeting if the member has broken the Code of Ethics or
contravened any of the provisions of the constitution of the Association
- A member whose expulsion is proposed shall have the right to address the Annual
General Meeting. A member shall only be expelled if an Annual General Meeting shall
resolve by a two-thirds majority.
- Any member desiring to resign from the society shall submit his/her resignation in
writing to the Secretary, which shall take effect from the date of receipt.
- Any person who resigns or is removed from membership shall not be entitled to a
refund of their subscription fees or any part thereof or any moneys contributed by
him/her at any time.
